Avoid using waxworms as feeders

I just want to warn people about waxworms. I don’t know why but I have had several of my girls pass away the last week, and they have had common things occur, one being that a few days before they had waxworms. When they pass, I find them with what I can only describe is a wobbly abdomen. There is no death curl, they are limp and their abdomen will be heavier.

I stopped using waxworms a few years ago because of the same issue, but I decided to try them out again thinking it was just a fluke, yet here I am, experiencing the same thing. I’m not sure if it was from over eating or if their bodies were just not used to them but it’s something to keep in mind.

Unfortunately Ziggy was one of the spiders who did not make it. This was her first waxworm 😭
